Currently, the association has nearly 300 members. Membership is granted on two levels: Full membership and associate membership.

1. Full membership is granted to psychotherapists of psychoanalytic orientation, who have undergone the appropriate training (e.g. Graduates of post-graduate psychoanalytic psychotherapy schools) whose curricula include supervision and personal psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
   
2. Associate membership: The association is open to a broad range of psychotherapists, researchers and theoreticians who have a special interest in psychoanalytic theory (e.g. art therapists, various academicians, trainee psychotherapists having special interest in this area and those who do not yet fulfill the criteria for full membership.
   

The suitability of each candidate will be assessed by an admissions committee.
